New to Denmark? Find out what you can do at your local library.

At the library you can …

Borrow books, films, music, audio books in a variety of languages and for both children and adults – or download them to your phone or tablet. You can also find current newspapers and magazines.

The library’s services are, for the most part, free of charge. Fees for special services may be charged.

For Children

For children of all ages we have books, “play and learn” language materials, audiobooks, music and movies. You can also borrow games for Playstation, Nintendo and Xbox.

Newspapers and magazines online

With PressReader you can read today's newspapers from more than 100 countries in 25 languages. If you live in Vejle and are registered as a member, you can access PressReader directly from home.

Learning Danish or other languages?

If you are learning Danish or any other languages, we have a variety of language courses for you to borrow or access online.

Joining the library

In order to register at the library, you need to apply in person - remember to bring  your health insurance card - or online using your NemID.

Reserve books, music and films directly from home

If you are a member, you can log on to our website and search and reserve books, music, films etc. directly from home. You can also check your status and extend your lending period.

Databases

The library has access licenses to a variety of databases, some of which you can access directly from your home computer, tablet or phone.

Bibliotek.dk

You can access national library collections on bibliotek.dk, order books and other materials and pick them up at your local library.

Our librarians are your guides to knowledge, so do not hesitate to ask for assistance.

Computers, Wifi and Print

Using our public computers is free of charge. If you need to print or copy something, we charge DKK 2.00 per page.

You can also bring your own computer, tablet or phone and use our wifi.

Enjoy exhibitions, lectures and events for children and adults. Or take on some of our many courses.
